So, it’s Sunday and most people are thinking one of two things: 1) It’s actually called “Sunday Funday” OR 2) It’s actually called “lay on the couch in my pajamas” day. I agree both of those are fantastic ways to spend Sunday.
But for me “Sunday Runday” is like a metaphor. The reason I call it Sunday Runday is because it’s the day I dedicate to running more miles… and it’s fun to say! Focusing on this one goal helps me to be on track not only for the last day of the weekend, but more importantly to prepare for the week ahead. There’s never been a Sunday that I have put in effort and preparation for the week, and failed. For me it is an essential tool to get shit done!
Trust me, there are Sunday’s that I really just want to spend the entire day snowboarding, hanging out with friends… Often times that involves drinks or beer… Or binge watching movies while I slack off leaving important things for “tomorrow.” But that attitude is what got me to the point of needing a fitness journey in the first place!
If you don’t already, I urge you to take Sunday (or whatever is your equivalent to Sunday) as day to set yourself up for success. Whether it’s fitness, or being prepared for a great work week, or business projects. You’ll be grateful for that time you spent to focus on important parts of your life.
It’s an incredibly rainy weekend here in Oregon and I’ll admit it’s making me want to stay curled up under the covers and not leave my house! But I’m about to lace up my running shoes and get on my run on!
Happy Sunday, enjoy the day whatever you are planning to do, make it great!āš¼ļø

Great advice! I always say ‘I’ll start on Monday,’ so this is a great way to change that mindset!

Thanks! I’ve definitely done the “I’ll start Monday” thing many times too! Sunday Runday has gotten me out of that habit š

It’s -18 in Chicago today, so I’m going to try the last at-home workout you shared instead š

Love this. Sunday is such a great day to plan and prep food for the week to come. As you said there way you start your week can set you up for success. Do you some new goals for 2016?

Isn’t it?! š I didn’t actually set new goals specifically for the new year, I’ve been on my fitness mission since September. One of my newer goals tho is to spend more time outdoors (hiking, walks, runs etc) What about you, any 2016 goals?

That’s awesome. It’s good that you’ve kept up with it. Outdoor fitness goals are great. Love to go hiking. My goal for this year is specific to wight lift goals and putting on more weight…at least those are my fitness goals.

I like to think of Sunday as like, pressing the refresh button on your browser! It’s such a nice day to make sure everythings set and ready for the upcoming week…I give myself a day off from the gym to make sure 1) I get a rest 2) that I’m prepped!x

I hope you had a fabulous run! I totally slept in to the point that my kitten was trying to drag me out of bed. I love your idea of using Sunday as a chance to set up for the success of the week! xoxoxo

Thanks š It’s was a little slow! Was “running” on little sleep yet again! Lol But it was still good! My cat does the same, I love sleeping and wished I could have. Hope you have a great day and week!

Yep! A total of 28 miles over the weekend so I’d say pizza was a well deserved treat.
