I’m back with another Monday Motivation!
Saturday night I woke up with a slight fever, chills/sweats… aching body, incredibly sore throat, and a pounding headache… yup. Hello Flu. So yesterday I spent the day resting and trying to drink enough water to supply an army. I even added in coconut water and a Bai antioxidant drink. At the end of the day I was still sick. And missed my 10k run (which I was really looking forward to). So more than anyone I need to keep myself positive and motivated.
Since I’ve been away from the blog I’ve been super busy with “daily doubles” or even triple daily workouts, studying, and finding a solution to where the blog is going (but that’s another story!) Anyway, I’m really proud of my efforts and consistency both with workouts and eating healthier. Dedication goes a long way!
I have a feeling that even though I am feeling better, that I’m going to have a strong desire to “take it easy” today, but I know myself well enough to know that’s just my brain getting the best of me. I also know myself well enough to know that I need to keep moving!
It would be super easy to use being sick yesterday as an excuse to lay low for the next couple of days, but honestly I don’t think that would help my body. As long as I am feeling better there is no reason to let myself stay down and out any longer than necessary, at the very least I can do some form of low intensity steady state cardio… I have a big week ahead- finishing up the Tone It Up 8 week Challenge as well as adding in Kayla Itsines workouts, so I don’t have time for excuses!
The quote I shared above is one that I not only remind myself of every day, but one that I find myself saying to Kris more and more. Usually he is right there with me working out hard and eating right, but he’s definitely struggling lately and I’ve noticed his excuses so I try to gently remind him of what he’s really doing… it’s only hurting himself!
Remember that there will always be tomorrow’s but your body needs your love and support today and will thank you for putting it first today!
Have a great week and remember to keep moving ✌🏼
